First World War trenches on the Promontorio Bratina
Description
A simple walk along the southern flanks of Monte Ermada, and more precisely on the Promontorio Bratina and Monte Cocco. During the Great War, these two bulwarks played an important role in defending access to the city of Trieste, which was only 20 km behind the front lines. On 27-28 July 1917, the Austrians blocked an Italian attempt to break through the lines on this promontory.
