Description

The Porto Buso channel, which flows into the lagoon of the same name, divides the Grado and Marano lagoons. Porto Buso and Anfora island used to mark the border between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Italy and at the beginning of the First World War, on 24 May 1915, the Austrian customs post on the border was shelled by the Italian destroyer Zefiro.
