This is the typical oak of low-lying terrain with deep, humid soil. Found in lowland forests, along rivers and near springs, as well as in well-preserved hedges or with isolated specimens in meadows and fields. The oak forest is the climax plant community of the plain, representing the optimal and relatively stable adaptation to the soil and climate.
