15-16 cm, the male with grey head and white throat in the cinerocapilla subspecies, yellow belly, long tail with white outer feathers. During migration, other subspecies are also present, recognisable by the plumage of their head. Present from mid-March to September, it nests in open habitats of agricultural areas, salt marshes and barrier islands.
