This is a dry and very cold continental wind blowing from E-NE at gusts of up to 160 kph and more. It can blow this hard for several days (tradition has it that the Bora always blows an uneven number of days: one, three or five…) or even weeks. It can be ‘light’ or ‘dark’: in the first case, it arrives with good weather, while in the second it brings bad weather with it in the form of rain or snow, accompanied by a small army of broken umbrellas abandoned in the city’s bins.
